Chair of the Day
What is wrong with this picture? Cute girl, cute hair, nice chair. But… what is that tray table doing there? Hate it in a major way! I had a client once who said, “You have to have those.” I looked her right in the eye and said, “#$@$&!!” I didn’t really say that, but I sure felt like it. Obviously there are people who like these things, but the truth is you do not have to have a tray table. It’s just my personal opinion and it happens to be right. This chair is quite nice without the tray (see below).
So, how does that slim girl get into that chair? Do they make it in a larger size for normal people with regular hair? Plus, if the tray twists out (so you can sit) it will be left so everyone else knocks into it. It’s like having to close the toilet seat; no one will do it unless they get yelled at. And what do you do with the tray if you forgot your laptop? This one isn’t even big enough to hide your cell phone so you can text your BFF! I think that if you’re in a meeting where you have to have room for a laptop or other note-taking device, you should be in a proper room with a beautiful conference table like this one (see below) from Moroso. And now I’ve got to go pick up an ottoman.

Here’s another problem with “tray tables”. Before long, they start to sag. The mechanisms that allow them to rotate into position are designed to look sleek, not to function well. When they do, the chair looks really sad.
