Chair of the Day by Misterarthur

I’m sorry I can’t find a better photo of this chair. I can’t find much history on it, nor can I find its designer. Which is kind of a shame, because, I think you’ll agree, it could well be the most famous chair in America. (And possibly Canada, too). Who hasn’t sat in one of these in a school assembly, church basement, conference room, DMV (or whatever you call the place in your state whereyou get your driver’s license), jury slection room, etc., etc., etc.? So let’s give a salute to this popular little folding number. It quietly does its job, is virtually indesctructible, is unobtrusive, discreet, unassuming, stackable, reasonably comfortable, light, and timeless in a never-in-style kind of way. All I think it needs is a $4,000 gold-plated ironic adaptation by Phillippe Starck to make it a star.
