This is an Eames Sofa Compact. I have two in my office. (In this same color, too). Here are a couple of things I love about the Sofa Compact. Naturally, I love the way it looks. I’m particularly impressed with a design that still looks fresh after 53 years of continuous production. I don’t know if I’d have one in my home, but for an office, it’s perfect. Second, (and this really surprises visitors to my office) it’s very very comfortable. The Eames’ didn’t just know from design, they were clearly ergonomic experts as well. For some reason, people don’t associate comfort with “contemporary”. Unfortunately. After all, it would be odd if no one had made any progress in seating comfort since Louis XIV. Oh, and one other thing. Doesn’t the name seem sort of Yoda-like? “Ah Luke, seated you should be in a Sofa Compact”. Do you like it?
