Chair of the Day: Knoll and Harry Bertoia

While I’m writing about Knoll and Harry Bertoia’s Bird Chair (see post below), I thought I’d add this other beauty by Bertoia. It started in 1952 with an experiment bending metal rods into practical art. I guess practice makes perfect. He used this method to create not only this asymmetrical lounge chair, but an entire series. This particular chair never made it past the prototype phase until now.
