Chair of the Day: Urban Outfitters
Okay, I’ve had a really long day and am still feeling under the weather, so I’m in the mood for a rant. This is the: “Tufted Storage Chair” from Urban Outfitters. It weighs in at $250, plus $40 for shipping. I say, “What is this doing at Urban Outfitters?” It looks like a reject from Ballard Design. Maybe the store’s really called Suburban Outfitters. There’s nothing Urban about it. Not even Keith Urban. It also looks really painful. Who cares if you can hide last night’s party inside the seat? If you’ve been to their store and seen the way it’s merchandised, I know you’d be thinking the same thing I am, which is, “Huh?”
So, the price is low, but not worth it. The velvet looks like it’s been lying around on the floor. Notice the little scratch marks on the side? Why didn’t they airbrush those out? I guess that wouldn’t constitute truth in advertising. Imagine what this looks like in real life. Personally, I’d rather buy something for half the price at a garage sale. Am I being too bitchy? Maybe, but I’m willing to take the risk.
