David Levinthal

Yesterday I wrote about Kate Sullivan and her spectacular cakes at Lovin’ Sullivan. So I thought I’d write about her husband, the very talented photographer, David Levinthal, today. David uses toys as stand-ins for cowboys, hookers, soldiers and others to convey an ethereal, dreamlike world.

His lighting is spectacular. The soft focus gives real dimension to the photography. And, no matter the subject at hand, his work is surprisingly emotional.

David’s work has been published in several books, which are available on his site. You can also see a list of where his work is currently being exhibited.

Take a look at this work and let me know what you think. Some of his work is edgy. What’s your opinion?

Interesting works. I enjoy the toy figures as thought provoking.
