Detroit Garden Works

It’s a gardening kind of day. So with thoughts going to the greenery (i.e.: weeds) surrounding my house) I thought I’d better get myself over to Detroit Garden Works for some new items to spruce up the old estate (aka: money pit).

This fantastic garden shop is located in Sylvan Lake at 1794 Pontiac Drive. It’s a drive for some of us Detroiters, but well worth the trip. Owner Deborah Silver goes on extensive buying trips throughout the United States and Europe in search of interesting antiques, vintage and new garden items. A considerable collection of terra cotta, whether English stoneware, classic Italian, or glazed French, is selected from those few places and potteries where terra cotta is still made by hand. They sell plants, too! And, they ship nationwide. Check out their site and if you don’t see what you want, give Deborah a call.
