Emma Gardner Rugs

I was up late last night watching Ken Branagh’s production of As You Like It. He set the play in Japan, which was so inspired (in my opinion). But then, I’m partial to both Ken Branagh and William Shakespeare. I guess that’s why I’ve got Asia on the brain today. So, here’s an Asian-inspired feast for your eyes from textile designer, Emma Gardner.

Not all of her designs are Asian, but her bio states that she was born in Kyoto, Japan. So there you go. Emma Gardner is now based in Litchfield, Connecticut, where she designs rugs, blanket throws, pillows and other textile designs.

You can see more of her designs on her site, here. You can buy her rugs at the showrooms, which represent her. Most are open to the public. Check her site for the names of show rooms. Some her work can be found at Unica Home. She also does custom work.

I love the carpet runner, below. My other favorite is the Koi pond. It would be difficult to put anything on top of that. What’s your favorite?
