Faux Bois Is At It Again!

Here’s yet another example of the emerging Faux Bois trend I’m seeing all around. This one is from Wisteria. It’s called “A Mad King’s Tree Table” and according to the blurb, we have the King of Bavaria to thank for Faux Bois. I am highly sceptical about this fact. And no name was given for this poor king, which isn’t very nice since they called him crazy. But then, this all happened way back in “the mid 1800′s.” Did they think we wouldn’t know what they were talking about if they just said “mid 19th Century”? Oooh, I’m such a snot today. Smack!
Anyway, the table looks too shiny. That nameless King told me in a seance last night that Faux Bois is supposed to be matte. But other than that, I like this table. It sells for a respectable $329 and you can get all the details here.

I like this. But I think I would like it more if more if it did not have a glass top.

Wisteria has great style furniture and accessories. At first, I was very impressed by their catalog. But more than once I found things that are out of place in their products or with how they style a piece. You know there is something wrong but it may take a second look to figure out what does not fit. The shininess of the Faux Bois is a perfect example.
