Holiday Mart Opens Tonight
I’ve been busy all year co-chairing the annual Holiday Mart, which benefits educational programs for Planned Parenthood. Vendors from across the country come to Grosse Pointe to set up shop for the weekend. Tonight’s Preview Party kicks things off.
My house guest for the weekend is one of our vendors, Jennifer Lane. She, along with her mother, run JL Lane, a handbag and accessories company. It’s not your ordinary operation. As their site says, they are “committed to enhancing the lives of women and children in developing countries. JL Lane allocates 20 percent of its profits to Plan, an international partner organization. Together, JL Lane and Plan are dedicated to finding lasting solutions to poverty, hunger and social injustice in the developing world.” Here are some of their designs.

The show runs from Friday through Sunday. Hours are 9:30 – 5:00 Friday and Saturday and 12:00 – 5:00 on Sunday. I hope to see you there! The entrance fee is $5.00.
