I want my Pixelnotes!
![]()
I LOVE this product prototype from Duncan Wilson and partner Sirkka Hammer. I must have spent a lot of time drawing on walls because I love anything that involves writing on things you’re not supposed to. A few weeks ago I wrote about Memerase – a sort of white board wallpaper. Pixelnotes is so much cooler. If I could type and jump up and down at the same time I’d be doing it now.
So what it is already!?!? Basically, it’s a wallpaper consisting of four layers of varying grey tones on a bright primary backing. Each layer is perforated in a grid format and backed with a tacky adhesive similar to ‚Äòpost-it‚Äô notes. Pixelnotes is inspired by the way we work within a space. “The walls become functional, an integrated noticeboard that documents our activity within the room. Pixelated formations and shapes develop according to our patterns of use.” This prototype was an award-winner at the New Walls, Please! competition in 2004. Duncan reports that he’s had a lot of recent interest in putting the product into production. I’d love to see that happen. This idea was born to live in advertising agencies. Good-bye white boards! You can contact Duncan Wilson here.

I’ll have to ask Duncan to comment and give us an update. This seems like such a logical and brilliant idea I can’t believe it’s not in production. Glad you think so, too.

Oh, I want one too! Thanks for the link!
