Interiors Follow the Runway Fashions?

They say (and it’s true) that interior design is often inspired by fashion. This is especially true with textiles, which makes obvious sense. I can only think of one instance where this idea worked in reverse. That’s Scarlett O’Hara’s famous curtain dress. So, when I saw Thom Browne’s spring collection on Style.com I thought, “Hmmm… how would his vision translate into home decor?”

This poncho and shorts could become a fabulous window treatment. I see khaki panels with gray roman shades trimmed in black. (Did he shave his legs?)

My personal vision? I’m seeing a marvelous sectional sofa. Patch pockets with those cute buttons to hold magazines, remotes, and… well, whatever else you need to have handy when lying on the sofa watching Jonathan Rhys Meyers in The Tudors. I know Henry VIII would be happy to know that codpieces are back in.

I bought this for my husband. I know he’ll love it. Okay, back to business. I’m seeing loads of toss pillows here. Or, perhaps a beautiful bedspread! (Do you think this guy’s got this photo in his portfolio?)

What’s your vision? How would you translate those rosettes on the last guys shoes?
