Should I Go To IKEA on Friday? You Vote!
Not Emily’s StyleOkay, I’m designing my niece’s bedroom for her. She lives in Virginia and is an extremely cool girl with an aesthetic way beyond her 14 years. A tough customer – especially considering that the budget to redo her room into a chic teen hangout (she wants a living area and a hidden sleeping area) is $1,000. Now, that’s very generous in my opinion. All I got to do at her age was repaint. But teens sometimes disagree with their elders for some strange reason. And she does have a lot of things on her list of necessities.
This brings me to my point. The day after Thanksgiving, IKEA is opening at 7:00. The first 1,000 people through the door get a scratch card giving you the chance to win all kinds of things. This includes sofas, other furniture, and an entire living room set. They have all kinds of other give-aways as well. This would be an opportunity to help my niece with her project and her budget.
Who thinks I should wake up at 5:30 AM on Friday morning to see what I can win on behalf of my niece? The poll is on the sidebar to the right. Voting ends tomorrow at 11:00 PM. If “Yes” is the answer, I’m going. If it’s “No” I’m sleeping in. It’s in your hands.

If only I could be two places at once! But that’s a good idea. Maybe I’ll have caviar for breakfast. That’s better than Swedish meatballs.

You Rock!!! I can’t believe you won the sofa!!! My daughter, your niece, owes you big time!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you.
I think it is very generous of you to do this for your niece. $1,000 is a tremendous amount for a 14yo to decorate on. Like you, I only got to pick out the paint color and that was only if we lived in a house and not an apartment.
Of course if you got up at 5am you could be here in time for our 3rd Annual Champagne and Shopping Friday. We start the day off with caviar and bubbly. It is more champagne than shopping but still a lot of fun.
