True Kitchen Innovation

One day when I win the lottery (I never buy tickets, so this might be a problem) I’m overhauling my kitchen. There isn’t really anything wrong with my kitchen, except that I don’t like the color of the granite. But you know it’s so expensive to change it out and there are so many other things that need doing. But one day I’m going to have a house with everything just the way I want it. It may include a Bulthaup kitchen.

Their kitchens are unlike anything else I’ve ever seen. Their new line, called simply System B3, is suspended from the wall creating a “floating” effect. Everything is integrated and designed to work together. It’s German engineering at its finest. The walls are multi-functional and can contain panels that hide knives and spices even TV screens. The materials are thin to create a light feeling.

I really love the four-burner hob. The burners are lined up so you don’t have to reach over an open flame or a hot pot. They’ve got so many different ways to integrate things in the drawers and organize things it’s amazing. I love to cook, but when I’m not cooking I like the kitchen to look clean. I don’t like a lot of clutter all over the place. I guess that’s why this particularly appeals to me.

This is a problem being a designer. I see all these beautiful things but I only have one house! Well, there’s the beach house (Chum Bucket – plenty of weeks available next summer!). But you know as soon as I put something like a Bulthaup kitchen in it, a hurricane will pay it a visit.
What’s would your dream kitchen look like?
