Architectural Depot

I’m showcasing some items sold by my loyal Design Hole advertiser, Architectural Depot. I told Dan, their marketing manager, that I’d be writing about them today and he asked me to tell you that they’re all really nice people. And they are.

The Depot sells all kinds of architectural elements for both interior and exterior projects. I really like their shutters. But I thought I’d show you some of their door knockers. They’ve got an amazing assortment, from the traditional to cow skulls.

Most of their knockers come in several finishes, like chrome and bronze. If you don’t like the cow skull, a dragonfly is always nice. I like the pine cone.

Here’s my Seaside Assortment (I really need a job naming things). My favorite is the frog. You’ll find Architectural Depot listed as Wood Corbels under Sponsored Links. I hope to be adding lots more sponsors in the near future.

I ordered 150 dollars worth of Bedford wood shelf brackets from architecuraldepot.com. These so-called “shelf brackets” have no means of mounting them to a wall. There are no “keyhole” slots for screw-mounting. After nearly forty-five minutes spent on hold, customer service told me I had to either glue them in place or drill through the bracket for a screw and then fill the hole afterward! How ridiculous! I asked to return them, and they informed me they would charge me a 20-percent restocking fee on top of the return shipping charge. If you need structural brackets, find another manufacturer!

Thank you for leaving your comment. I would like to state for the record, that I don’t represent Architectural Depot. They simply advertised on my site and, when appropriate, I wrote about some things I liked on their site. This was not a “paid for” post.

Your comment is one of the reasons I love blogs. It’s the best way to let the truth be known.
