Cell Carpet
Cell carpet is a rug made from industrial wool felt. The felt is pressed and cut into strings, which are combined to create the rug. Creator, Lama Concept, won The Best of the Best award, in 2004, at 100% Design for Cell.

Because the felt strings are assembled at random, each rug is unique. The dots are white and are set inside black or white strips. It’s available in 30 colors, shapes and sizes. Because the strips can be added to each other, all kinds of shapes are available. The edges are, well, edgy.

Judging from their information, it looks like it possible to embed LEDs in the carpet. That would be perfect for certain commercial applications. What do you think of this carpet? Can you visualize it in a residential setting?
