Chair of the Day: Emeco Hudson Office Chair

While we’re on the subject of home offices (see below), I thought I’d feature a cool seat for the space. It’s Emeco’s Hudson Swivel Chair.
I hate to admit it, but this is one item designed by Philippe Starck that I actually like because it isn’t some kind of one-off joke (don’t get me started – I’ll write one of my rants later). Starck designed the chair for the hip Hudson Hotel in New York.
I like the chair. It looks pretty comfortable, which is an important thing if you’re going to sit in it all day. Emeco makes a good product. You can find it at Design Public starting at $680 (because good ‘ole Phillipe designed it).
DESIGN HOLE AFTERTHOUGHT: After hearing from Dan Fogelson, at Emeco, I feel I should clarify that I was being light-hearted when I said the reason for the high price was all Phillipe Starck’s fault. It isn’t. As I said, Emeco makes a very good product. They have inspectors who have worked for the company for more than 20 years. And, their products are guaranteed for life. Misterarthur (An early adopter of Emeco) has their classic Navy side chairs in his office and loves them.

Am I being spanked? I guess I’d better put my reading glasses on (and apologize to Phillipe)!

Thanks for the notice Jennifer. You can find out more about Emeco and why our chairs are so expensive at our site, http://www.emeco.net
(its not just because Starck designed it)
