Chair of the Day: Ghana Chair
Today’s African chair comes from Ghana. Here are a couple of facts about Ghana, via my son, Spencer. The capitol is Accra, and their airport is Kotoka International.
This chair is made of rattan and wood, which has been hand carved. You can find it at Bamboulatd, which sells it for the ridiculous price of $169.
Bamboula provides work and income for artisans in Ghana, Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. The company purchases handcrafted products directly from artisans at fair prices, and uses the principles of Fair Trade in all of its transactions with the artisan.
