Chair of the Day: Scan’s Velvet
When I had a spare moment in Baltimore over the last few weeks I was happily checking out the amazing progress my home town has made. It had me reminiscing about Scan, a furniture store that was popular in the 1970′s for Danish Modern. My Mom practically lived there. I remember thinking, “Not that place again!” It meant at least an hour sitting around the shop trying to mentally rearrange everything.
Anyway, I’m finally getting to the point. The original Scan is gone, but I was surfing around to see if it had been resurrected in some way and, yes, it has been – sort of. The new Scan Design is based in Florida and has stores located throughout the state. Funny, my Mom lives there now.
