Chair of the Day: XL Design
Where do the hours go? I was kept from my beloved laptop while putting the finishing touches on a couple of design projects. Tomorrow I’m off to the North Carolina shore where I will be prepping our beach house, Chum Bucket, for the rental season. I’ll also be stopping by my favorite boutiques, camera in hand.

With the outdoors in mind, I bring you XL Design’s Ball Chair. This amazing, stackable outdoor chair was designed by Irishman, Finn Stone. The chair was first made from polypropylene, but the material made the chair prohibitively expensive. It’s now produced using an injection molding process – a method that has been vastly improved upon in recent years. That may sound kind of boring, but I guess I’m kind of nerdy that way. I find manufacturing details fascinating.

Ball comes in wonderful colors and looks good anywhere – even in dockyards. Hooray for XL Design, which hails from Belgium.

Those would be great in our back yard. Perfect for a little boy to climb on and big boys to sit on. Do you know who distributes them in the US?
Have a great time at Chum Bucket!

I’ve had a lot of requests for these! I only wish I had a larger backyard, or I’d buy them for myself.
I have an inquiry into XL Design and will let you know how to order.

The picture of the dockyards look amazing. These chairs would be fabulous for an outdoor party.
