Emma Gardner Carpets

Emma Gardner is introducing two new hand-tufted wool carpet designs this Fall. Istanbul and Constantinople were inspired by Turkish design elements such as damasks and pottery. Each design comes in seven colorways. (I think I’ll be needing a free sample of the Istanbul.)

Istanbul

‚ÄúI’d been inspired by Turkish pottery I saw at an exhibit at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London last summer,‚Äù says Emma. ‚ÄúThese rugs were a nice chance to finally combine that inspiration with some framed damask patterns I was designing, as well as to play with some interesting new colors. We experimented with flat versus a varied pile on both of these designs, and decided without a doubt that the latter was better, giving the rugs a sculpted look that allows the design and the colors to stand out crisply.‚Äù

Constantinople

Istanbul and Constantinople are constructed of New Zealand wool. These rugs retail at $50 per square foot and are available in standard and custom sizing and colors. Hallway runner for me. How about you? To see the entire collection go to Emma Gardner Design.
