Joya Candles

I don’t usually write about things like candles. I don’t think of them as a design item, but perhaps I should. Scented candles have come a long way since the days of Glade. I use them in my powder room when I entertain. If you like a scented candle I recommend “investing” in a good one. The quality of the ingredients make a huge difference.

Joya was kind enough to send me a couple of their scent products to try out. The candles pictured here are made in conjunction with ceramic artist, Sarah Cihat. She makes fantastic recycled dishes.

I particularly like the skull and crossbones. It’s a funky little candle and I liked the blend of scents. The other is an infuser, which I’ve never used before. You put some oil in the ceramic container and dip the sticks into the pot. They absorb the oil and release the scent. I thought it would be over-powering, but it wasn’t. Just a nice little bit of atmosphere.

You can buy¬† their candles through various online shops, though I didn’t see these.¬† Check out Joya‘s website for a list of both retail shops and online shops. I’d like to thank Joya for sending me these. It was a nice surprise and one I was (thankfully) happy to write about.

Thanks for an interesting ansd informative post. I couldn’t agree more about Joya candles. We have just started to import them to our store in the UK and the quality and packaging are really excellent – as is the customer service from their New York based outlet.
