New Lamps & Some Tips from Lumen Lamps

Table lamps can be difficult to find. It’s kind of like trying to find the perfect pair of black pumps. How hard could it be, right? But when shopping for said pair you find that the heel is too high or low, and then you spy perfection only to find that there’s some stupid flower glued on the top.

Lamps can be the same. You know you want a simple, modern lamp that will fit under the kitchen cabinets. But all you can find that are the right height have a Disney theme, and the contemporary styles are 3 feet tall. It can be very frustrating.

Lumen Lamps doesn’t necessarily have that perfect lamp, but they do have a nice, sophisticated assortment of traditional and contemporary styles. And their prices are good – you won’t find the same old Pottery Barn thing there, either. At any rate, it’s another good resource to add to your list. Here are 3 of their new arrivals that I particularly like.

Green Crackle Glaze Lamp: $315
Tortoise Silver Bottleneck Lamp: $325

Robins Egg Blue Crackle Vase Lamp: $295

I found a helpful page on their site with tips on how to go about choosing a table lamp. It’s a useful tool for do-it-yourself-ers as well as designers. We can always use refreshers. Finally, they offer a discount to designers. Enjoy!

Thanks for your comments! Lumen does have a lot of unique lamps and it’s much easier for me to find something there than at the large online lamps stores that have thousands of lamps. – Roger

I got an e-mail from Lumen yesterday with a 10% promo code of TNYWM that you can use at checkout. It’s valid trough Friday 01/18/2008.

Green Crackle Lamp price has a typo – you have $31 and its $315. I was feverish to nab one at your posted price and crashed from my bargain-shopping high upon discovering the actual price.

I must admit, however, it’s so lovely I would pay the $315 for it…

Thanks for letting me know about the typo. My bad.
