Richard Lampert

There I was, walking along looking at various exhibits, when I spotted Richard Lampert‘s. “Hey,” I said, “I write about this guy.” And what a nice surprise to find that Richard was manning his own booth. Such a nice man. I tried to convince him to come to Detroit and speak to the students at The College for Creative Studies. One of my companions is Sandra Sabbagh, the chairman of CCS’s interior design department. So we both tried. Here’s a photo of us with Richard.

Here’s a photo of his Flip sofa, which was designed by Eric Degenhardt. He created slightly bent verticals that are thin in profile, but solid in use. Its graphic lines make something quite unique. I much prefer this sofa to the chair version.
