The Road to Milan: Heron Parigi
Forty years ago Paolo Parigi opened his firm, Heron Parigi, which creates handmade masterpieces in metal. Today, the company is a family-run operation, and small – only 20 employees. Heron Parigi seems to be a well-kept secret. Here’s some inside info.
Paolo began his career as a graphic designer for an advertising agency. It was there that he created his first design – a drafting table for his own use which integrated the counterweight. He made a few more tables for friends. Word began to spread of a much more user-friendly table and Heron Parigi was born.
The company creates products for both home and office which resist trends. Can someone love a metal dining table? I can. Arthur will want one.

Functional and beautiful shelves
I’m very curious to see these in person when I get to Milan. I’ve heard that Parigi’s work really has to be seen to be appreciated because the finish is so unique personal to his workroom.
