I would LOVE to ditch the upper cabinets...but I live in S. CA, so it's not an option :-(.

In my current house, I need all the wall cabinets I can get. My next house (loft, I hope) will be much simpler. I would love to hang my pots and pans (after a good scrubbing on the bottoms!)
I wonder about the resale value of a house with skirts instead of doors though. I would think that it would have a limited appeal.
I like #'s 3, 5, 6 & 9

I really really want one. But it would look so good I'd have to change the rest of the kitchen to match. But think of the savings if we didn't buy those upper cabinets! It would pay for itself!

This is a wonderful collection of kitchens!! #8 is the worst design in the universe for sure! Yes, those big, monolithic, wall cabinets close things in, you have that right! Great post!

4 & 5 are my favorite!!

#8 i agree, perhaps if the counter circled around the other end of the sink (against the wall), it would be better

#10 i always love brick walls inside a space
but the stone wall took me by surprise and im loving that too

pots and pans, not so much but neatly stacked china out in the open is fine by me =)

loved this post
