Chair of the day: Gispen 1407
I’m looking forward to the return of Mad Men and all its mid-century melodrama. I’ve chosen a chair today that would fit right in. Gispen 1407 was the result of a collaboration between Wim Rietveld and A.R. Cordemeyer. It’s really great isn’t it?
It was part of the successful Gispen Collection “Furniture for a Simple Interior“. It won a gold medal in the Milan show in 1954, the year it debuted. It’s made with Bakelite armrests – the coolest part. It also comes with an ottoman.
Fortunately, it’s still in production. You can find it at the M2L Collection. Call them or email for a price.
