Floral sheets for a focal point
The easiest way to create a focal point in a bedroom is to dress the bed with a print. You can use pattern on a duvet or bedspread. But why not go all out and start with colorful patterned sheets?
Here are some resources and styles to consider.
One of my favorites is the red colorway here. Schlossburg’s Lorraine. They’re available via Laughlin Designs. Hold your breath when you see the price. How can you put a price on beauty?

Manuel Canovas is famous for this fabrics. He also designs beautiful bedding. This is his Lavandieres toile. Find it as Fine Italian Linens.
Another choice from Canovas is Galuchat by Aiko Luxury Linens.
More moderately priced is Garnet Hill’s Field Flowers.
More beautiful sheets after the jump.

A little more subdued, but still vibrant. Above, Cayman is a coral offering from Lulu DK by Matouk. It’s available here. Below, Coral, from William Sonoma Home.
Also from Lulu DK, Paradiso has a nice mix of patterns. From Italian Fine Linens.
Peonies is made by Schlossberg (Bonjour), from Switzerland. You can buy them at Laughlin Designs.
Also by Schlossberg, Gladys brings the irises inside. Again, from Laughlin Designs.
I love the play of Julie‘s soft blue with fuschia. Yet again, Schlossberg at Laughlin.
Finally, another soft blue floral, Doreen. Can you tell I love Schlossberg? Yes. They’re beautiful and well made. A real splurge. Again, the best resource is Laughlin (owned by Snuggle Down).
Interior Design Bedding Tips
1. Spring for fine quality sheets. They feel so wonderful, you’ll never want to sleep on anything else. You can cut on cost by purchasing only the pillow shams and top sheet or duvet. Match them with a solid.
2. Iron them - at least the pillow cases and the edge of the top sheet. It makes a beautiful difference.
3.  Add to your focal point by painting the bed wall with the most saturated color. Use a more muted color or shade on the other walls.
4. Mix and match patterns for accent pillows on the bed.
I usually buy white sheets and use a pattern for the duvet. But these are worth thinking about. Do you think floral sheets are better than solids?

I have striped sheets with a monochromatic duvet at the moment. It’s time for a change and this is giving me great ideas.
Hey, am I the only one who loves changing her linens around? I feel like I have to do it at least twice a year (sometimes I want to do it more often than that). Do you have any suggestions for easily changing it around from season to season without having to break the bank for new linens every 4-6 months?

They do change your mood when selected correctly depending on our choices. I like all the above. They are so beautiful.

Thank you for mentioning Laughlin Designs and showing such clear photos. We love our beautiful bed linens, too! Your readers might be interested to know we have just added some nice floral sheets by Traditions. All of the bedding can be seen on http://www.snuggledown.com
Again, thank you,
Sandra

I’m like you — I prefer either white sheets or any solid color, and a vibrant/printed duvet.
One of my most favorite brands of linen is Whites of London. They recently started marketing in India, as well: http://www.whitesoflondon.co.uk/
