Friday Favorite: Roadside Photographs

Miss me? I didn’t mean to be gone for two days. My bionic hip is settling in nicely – though for anyone who¬† finds themselves in need of a replacement – do not believe anyone who says, “My hip pain was gone! I just had pain from surgery.” This implies a simple recovery. They are lying. The fact is that, if someone (I recommend a surgeon) chops off the top of your femur and hammers a spike into it, it’s going to hurt for awhile. However, since I get to wear high heels at the end of all this, it’s more than worth it.

Anyway, I finally saw the outside world for two (!) days in a row. Which brings me to today’s Friday Favorite – Roadside Photographs.

Photographer, Jen Zahigian, takes splendid snaps of life along the highway. As she says, “I enjoy working with color as a way of taking ordinary scenes just a bit beyond our everyday view. Many of these photographs were shot on road trips throughout California and the U.S… These photographs are a celebration of the fact that sometimes I do give in to whimsy, and pull over.”

I’ve put together a tryptic from her collection.

These would make a nice grouping, don’t you think?

Jen’s prints are sold in various sizes – most are 6″ x 9″. They come matted and sell for around $25.

I recommend contacting her to see if she will print a few in a larger size. A grouping, in a larger size, would look great in a hallway or over a sofa. Consider going mat-less. If you buy just one, use the mat. But make sure you place it on a smaller wall to create the most impact.

I want to let you know that I do offer prints in larger sizes, 11×14 up to 20×30.

11×14 prints are generally matted to 16×20. 20×30 prints are not matted, they are instead
mounted and framed to size.

I’m honored to be a Friday Favorite!
Thank You,
Jen Zahigian
