Greetings Semi Modern
My buddy, Joe Posch, just started a new blog called Semi Modern. It’s all about semi modern life in Detroit. Joe is the owner of my favorite Detroit home store, Mezzanine. As soon as I can drive I’m going to La Mezz to talk to Joe about a new tablescape for the entrance hall table. (Yes my hallway project is still in progress. I’ll start writing about it when it’s complete).
Here’s a post from Semi Modern I thought you’d enjoy:
You Decide
Greektown Casino Hotel has finally been completed and is open for business.  The last of the three casinos to open, its design had the most potential to appeal to modernists.
It is obviously too much to expect from a Detroit casino that we might get high design, but the tower itself has some very nice elements to recommend it.
Of course the giant problem with Greektown Casino is that they’ve taken the glass-box-grows-out-of-brick-building concept and applied it to their parking garage.

Thanks, Joe! Detroit needs a blog like this.

Oh gee. (Blush, blush) Thanks.

Hi Jennifer! Thanks for the welcome! I only hope that Semi Modern is half as interesting as Design Hole!
