Outdoor decor: front door faux pas
I thought lawn jockeys were a thing of the past. I guess they turned into lawn caddies. File this front door decor under FAIL. 
The flowers are great. The statuary is just wrong. Concrete greyhounds guarding front doors abound here in Grosse Pointe. Bunnies holding flower baskets, too. They’re not so bad. But please no figurines depicting your favorite sport (hmmm, that conjures some strange images).
I’m just having a spot of fun, but may I suggest…
A nice pair of planters with boxwoods, flowers or similar natural material?

I found this on a walk around Grosse Pointe. Since it’s Preppy Paradise, golfing, tennis and sailing are da bomb. Kitchy (sp?) things like this are, too.

Where did you find this?! I’m amazed at the lengths people will go to. I think you’re right to give this particular front door an F for fail…!! Flowers are so much prettier and can add that essential splash of colour – especially if you have a neutrally painted house or door.
Having said that, each to their own right?!
