Chair of the Day: Beckham and Issa’s Nemo Chair
Today’s chair is a translucent beauty from Beckham & Issa. Their Nemo chair is just one of many styles made from hand-crafted paper.
Holy Bejesus! Did I just say paper? Why, yes I did…
You see, Beckham & Issa use the Lloyd Loom process to create their furniture. You can read about it all about how they do it by following this link. And you can read about the history of Lloyd Loom here. It’s actually quite interesting. Kraft paper is twisted to create an “amazingly strong fiber.” It’s then woven into a variety of furnishings, such as the Nemo chair. There’s a lot more to it, obviously. The important thing is the end result is lovely.

I heard from the marketing director and she says, “We do ship to the US. Each item of Indoor furniture is made to order, and takes 8-10 weeks to ship to the US, depending on factory schedules.
