Design Hole Giveaway: Infusion Organique Scent Diffuser

I’ve spent a couple of weeks test driving a scent diffuser from Infusion Organique. I’m keeping it! So they generously gave me an extra to give away this week. Before I get to the giveaway info, here’s my take on scented homes.

Truthfully, I wasn’t an enthusiast of scented rooms until a couple of years ago. Up until then all I knew about this sort of thing were products designed to cover up some bad smell in someone’s home. Eeeeewwww! Whatever it is, if it smells that bad, clean it! Ick. Then, a friend got me thinking beyond the occasional scented candle by the bed…

She knows how to use scent properly. The key is to use the proper scent in the proper room to help create an atmosphere – not cover up stink. A kitchen needs a spicy sort of scent. The bath needs a fresh scent, and the bedroom gets a touch of something soft and romantic. More importantly, she buys higher end products because their ingredients produce a better scent. And most importantly, she doesn’t over do it. Bottom line, she got me thinking (and using) scent diffusers in my home – something  I thought would never happen.

I prefer diffusers over candles. The bottles are beautiful and the scent is continuous. Actually, I’ve had  an Infusion Organique diffuser in my powder room for a year, so this was a no-brainer sort of test drive. Their bottles are beautiful and the scents are soft and lovely. I put their Acai Rain scent in my bathroom. It looks great on a little tray.

Infusion Organique makes a variety of products for the home and body, but as I said, diffusers are my fave. Infusion Organique uses a blend of organic and scientifically derived ingredients. Quality is really important if you want a real scent that smells like what it’s supposed to be. Their ingredients are the real thing.

Okay, enough talk – onto the giveaway. The prize is a 6.4 oz. Acai Rain scent diffuser from Infusion Organique. To enter simply leave a comment on this post. I’d like to know if you use scent in your home, where you use it (if at all) and any other thoughts you have about a scented home. The giveaway runs for an entire week and ends on Sunday, August 1st at midnight. I’ll announce the winner on Monday, August 2nd. The giveaway is open to those living in the contiguous US and Canada who haven’t won a Design Hole giveaway within the last 6 months.

I use a scentsy holder in my kitchen. I prefer the clean, fresh scents such as cucumber or Wasabi Ginger (which is my favorite) I feel that it does help keep bad odors at bay but the different scents can help boost your mood, help relax you and so on.Plus it makes for a nice centerpiece on my kitchen counter.

Living in Manhattan means being in a really tiny closet/studio apartment where the importance of having your space scented and smelling pretty can’t be stressed enough.

Like you, I prefer diffusers because they emit no smoke and have a more subtle scent. I like to use one in the bedroom and in the tiny home office. The latter is almost a necessity because that’s where we keep our cat’s litter box. With a scent diffuser in the room, you couldn’t even tell an animal lived in the same home. :)

I love scents in powder rooms, but nowhere else. Candles are great for on the porch at night.

I used a scent diffuser for a little while right at the front entrance; it just gives you such a nice feel when you first walk through the door. I never replaced it, because…well… I’m lazy. I also have a stockpile of incense from my college days I keep thinking I’m going to use, but it feels a little juvenile, on top of being too intense and not long lasting.

I’m so glad you did. Misterarthur (as he’s known in blogland) is a smart guy. I’m glad you listen to his every word. :-)

I have two febreeze diffusers in my apartment, one in the hall and one in my sunroom/office.
Sounds kind of skanky saying I use febreeze stuff but the scent is Citus geen tea which is really nice.
Would love to try something a little more upper class in the diffuser world to see what it would be like!

I had no idea that Febreze came in different “scents”. Maybe Citrus Green Tea (which sounds like a strange combo to me) lowers it on the Skank-o-Meter. :-)

Now for my thoughts on Febreze. I considered writing a few words about it in the post, but opted on being nice. This morning I’m feeling a bit skanky. So… Once upon a time I accidentally bought Febreze-scented Tide. The smell was so awful and overpowering I threw it out. I guess lots of people love it, but if I wanted to smell like a walking candy counter I’d buy a bottle of Eau de Febreze at a perfume shop. Just my personal opinion, and honestly I haven’t tried anything other than their original scent. Green Tea sounds like a definite improvement.

Having dogs means that I continuously worry that my house smells “doggy”.
Never found a plug in that worked well, or that I liked. Found a really nice candle at a hotel, in Santa Monica – but it doesn’t last long, and costs a fortune. I am definitely open to trying something new… Plus the bottle and the colour of the Infusion Organique is so pretty:).

I would *love* to have this scent diffuser! I’ve never had one before. Depending on the strength of the scent, I would use it in my living room or bathroom.
