Dining In The Round: 7 Inspiring Dining Rooms That Really Set The Table

Round dining tables are a beautiful thing. It’s so much easier to speak with everyone at the party. Your conversations will sparkle when everyone is in on the action. The holidays will be here before you know it. If a dining table is in your future, why not consider a round style? Here are some room settings to inspire you.

Ten foot ceilings always help a room look great. Sigh. It’s always a good idea to buy a table and chairs that don’t come from a set. Your dining room will look more sophisticated (even with a rustic style) if things aren’t matchy-matchy.
If you live in a small space, a round folding table is a thing of beauty when it’s covered with a beautiful table cloth (or two). I’m big on table cloths, too. Doesn’t this table look beautiful?

This room, decorated by French artist, Fabien Verschare, brings back “the covered table in the corner thing”. Okay, it’s not in a corner, but…. still. I’m not ready to greet that thing quite yet, but in this case the table does double duty as a dining table and a decorative statement.

Here’s proof that you can mix the old with the new. And I love the lamp from Kartell. A lamp on the table may seem weird, but it’s simply an alternative to the usual candles. Find one that suits your style and give it a try.

I love these antique chairs. Who do you think will be sitting at this table later tonight? My guess is secretive, smartly dressed (in black) metrosexuals straight out of Rubicon.

This is my favorite. It’s so light and airy. Notice that there is no rug. Who needs a rug in every room? The wood against the white is design perfection. When will dinner be served?

I love the last dining room as well. It’s elegant without being pretentious; it’s bright, airy and inviting.

I love round tables, too… in fact, we have one. But I have had the hardest time finding pretty table cloths for the same. There are tons of options out there for square/rectangle tables, but not too many for round ones. I keep coming across the “Lenox” style (think: Macy’s) over and over again. Blech.

Know any good stores/sites where I can find lovely round table cloths without having to break the bank?

BTW: This is is like twilight zone. The captcha below the comment box reads CANNOT ENCOUNTER

Freaky!

I agre that round tablecloths are hard to find. I suppose I should write a post about some good ones. They usually appear in the summer for outdoor tables with umbrellas. So they have holes in the middle. Not good. One idea I do is cover the able with one or two square cloths. Don’t worry about any “seams” that show from the overlap. I nice centerpiece will make the table look lovely. You can try finding beautiful tablecloths here: http://www.belvivere.com/

Thanks for the post idea!
