Salone Del Mobile: A Sneak Peek At A Few Favorites
The Salone del Mobile is a ginormous event. It’s really impossible to see everything. That’s why it’s so much fun to scout out previews and create a map ahead of time for “must sees”. Here are a few things I’m looking forward to seeing in real life.
These Tetris-shaped bookshelves are lit using a computer program that allows you to change the colors as you like. Designed by a2. Can’t wait to see just how this works. This is the sort of design that has a thousand and one uses.
What’s your opinion of this lamp? It’s a sort of mix between a classic chandelier and a more contemporary fixture. Don’t you think?
I like the organic shapes of this set of ornamental hardware designed by Beatriz Sempere. Art becomes a useful towel rack or a drawer pull. These are lovely.
Okay, that’s enough for now! I’ve got a zillion things to do before I go. I’m hoping to write about my favorite planters now that Spring is allegedly here. I say allegedly because I haven’t seen it here in Detroit. I’m looking forward to the warmer weather of Milan – oh and a great cup of coffee. Ciao for now!

Very creative shelves! It is amazing how lighting with LED’s can add so much to something normal. These shelves would work great in a commercial environment also.
