Willows in my Backyard
I’ve been writing about my husband’s idea of planting an alle of trees on the side of our home. It began as a sad walk edged on either side by patches of stones which had begun to look like litter boxes with weeds. After three years, his plan is looking lovely.
Here’s where we started. The cat box was still the focal point, but you have to have faith. And a neighbor with a green thumb.
Last year things were rapidly coming together.
This year the trees are tall enough to trim so they meet at the top. I’ll take a photo at the end of the summer. It’s looking really lovely. I think we need to add a bench beside the house.
Is there anyone with a green thumb? I need suggestions for what to do next to the house. Do you think the bench is a good idea?

Love the look of your aisle of willows. Could swear I read somewhere though that willows are one of those trees not to be planted near a house. They have far reaching roots that go under buildings looking for water and can cause building disturbance. Hope I am remembering wrong!
