Chair of the Day: Vintage Laundry Bin
I know you’re thinking this is not a chair. Not so fast! This week’s theme is college, and I can speak from personal experience that laundry bins make excellent chairs-a-deux, impromptu sleeping arrangements, and aprés party transportation devices. A thousand and one uses!
Be the envy of your dorm with this most excellent laundry bin. As seen on Martha Stewart (so you know it’s sooooo cool). You can find this at Steele Canvas Basket Co. for a mere $77.00!
Chair of the Day: Forbannelse Chair From Pickett Furniture
Today’s Forbannale chair, from Pickett Furniture, is handmade from American Black Walnut using Japanese-style joinery. It does look beautifully crafted. Jeremy Pickett tells me that it is very comfortable. I believe him. He also says it’s quite heavy. No doubt about that, too. Read More…
Chair of the Day: Awesome Poufs from Moroccan Prestige
Here’s a Moroccan pouf that’s a little bit traditional – a little bit mod. Nifty, huh? I like the florals best. Moroccan Prestige offers these, and other designs, for $185 each. They measure 20″ x 14″ height. I like them. How about you?
Chair of the Day: Embellished Thonet Chairs From EnRouteStudios
Another gem from Etsy. I like these. Sigh. I have no room for them in my house, but maybe yours? EnRouteStudios has embellished these vintage Thonet chairs with hand-screened fabric. That’s a cool idea I haven’t seen before. The chairs are sold as a set ($1,100) and have been reupholstered and the wood refurbished. Read More…
Chair of the Day: Pam Davis-Finkelman’s Hand-Painted Stools
I’m spending a week on Fire Island with my best friend from college, Emily. Her sister-in-law, Pamela Davis-Finkelman, painted these colorful stools for Emily’s house. Aren’t they cute? Pam is a talented artist who makes all sorts of hand-painted furniture and other home accessories. She’s brilliant.
If you’re interested in buying a custom painted stool, they’re $250.00, including shipping and handling. She ships anywhere in the contiguous U.S. Lead time is 4-6 weeks.
Pam also creates designs for parties in the Wilmington, Delaware area. If you’d like to contact Pam, you can reach her via email at PDFDesigns[at]AOL [dot]com.
