I just finished reading a book on Dutch design. False Flat, written by Aaron Betsky and Adam Eeuwns, discusses the progress of post-WWII Dutch design - from furniture to graphic design. The art direction, by Irma Boom, is well done. I enjoyed reading it and would like to thank Phaidon Press for sending it to me.

I recommend it to anyone interested in the subject - especially students. If you liked Helvetica, the documentary about the world’s most famous type-face, you’ll like False Flat. It’s a good reference work, too.
False Flat is available through my Amazon Shop, for $29.95. Or you can buy it directly from Phaidon Press.
A new shelter magazine, Loft Life, will soon be hitting the shelves of your favorite bookstore (and my Amazon Shop). The quarterly magazine, aims to tap into the current trend in, well… loft living.

There seems to be plenty of room for Loft Life within the shelter zine world, given the tremendous interest in open space planning - whether it be residential or commercial. A perfect example can be found here in Detroit where lofts are almost as hot as Paris Hilton. Okay, well - whatever. They’re getting big.
You can check out Loft Life online here.
