Chair of the day: Pepper Kids Svan Chair
I don’t think I’ve ever featured a high chair before. So, woo hoo for firsts here at Design Hole!
This number sure isn’t like the one my son sat in. Svan has packed this with just about everything a baby could want. And a mom – I think including an ejection seat (just kidding). This is available at The Pepper Kids for $259.95.
Chair of the day: Hanley Chair
I know, we’ve all seen these chairs everywhere. Right? Look again. The difference between this Hanley Chair from The Farmhouse Collection, and all the others is the great lines.

Like a beautiful dancer, it’s all about the curves and, as I said, the great lines.
Chair of the day: Cranford bench
I like pieces like this. They go with just about everything from traditional to contemporary. The Cranford Bench is by Edward Ferrel and Lewis Mittman.

You can find this bench over at Decorati where it retails for $2,580.00 (Ouch).
Where to buy a subway seat
A while back I posted this subway seat as a Chair of the Day. I’ve received an email from a reader wanting to know where to find a 2 or 3–seat version.
Can anyone offer up some help?
Chair of the day: Brooks’ B66
For those of you who’ve been wondering how I’m coming along with my new hip, I am proud to announce that I wore high heels for the first time in several years last weekend. Yippee! Now it’s time to get back in the saddle.

A Brooks B66 saddle, if you please. It’s got springs for extra comfort on those bumpy Detroit streets. And, it looks really cool. I plan to be aiding and abetting misterarthur as he tours de hood on weekends.
Chair of the Day: Oops Nominee Cipria Sofa
This year’s nominees for the 2009 Oops awards for bad design have been announced. Among them is Fernando and Humberto Campana’s Cipria Sofa designed for Edra.
It looks like something I might find in the back my refrigerator. But, I must admit that it looks a little fluffier in this photo from Edra’s site. Sadly, not fluffy enough.
I chose this chair among many other very worthy contenders. Check them out here.
Do you think the Campana brothers deserve the honor?
Chair of the day: Jimmie Martin
I could kick myself when I see things like this. I’m reminded of the time I refused a grimy, old Victorian settee. I couldn’t see past its Victorianess. Fortunately, my creative mind was opened after a trip to Tibet.

I’m lying about the trip to Tibet – never been there. Let’s just say good things come along if you hang around long enough.
Anyway, this chair is the work of UK designer, Jimmie Martin. You can read all about himand see more styles at Urban Lifestyle Decor. Hop on over!
Chair of the day: African themed chair
My son, Spencer, is headed to Tanzania for 21 days on Saturday. He’s cool as a cucumber. I’m a tad nervous. But I’m doing a good job keeping it to myself. Tonight we pack everything up into his suitcase. Then, he has to practice running up and down the stairs with all his luggage to see if he really needs everything that’s in there.
In honor of his trip, I thought I’d choose a chair that’s somewhat African.
This Zebra Print Arm Chair is for sale at a very good price ($199.95) over at Overstock.com. This chair actually looks pretty good. And for $200 you can’t go wrong.
Chair of the day: Oly’s Hanna Sofa
This sofa, from Oly Studio is the perfect thing for anyone who likes to change their look seasonally. The Hanna Sofa’s neutral bones are the perfect backdrop for embellishment.
Hanna Sofa through the seasons:
Summer: White linen pillows edged or decorated with seashells are the way to go. Add a white cotton cable knit throw for rainy days.
Fall: Moss green pillows in a textured fabric are perfect for Fall. A soft green (but not matching) mohair throw and you’re done!
Winter: Brrr… You need plaid. Brown and blue plaid – with a striped throw that has a dash of red.
Spring: It’s here! Soft pink – on the warm side of pink – pillows. Add extra bling by pinning a silk flower onto each one. A wheat, hand woven throw completes the look.
What do you think?
Chair of the day: Rodrigues’ Kilin
In keeping with our Man Decorating theme today, may I present Sergio Rodrigues’ Kilin chair?

The chair was design for ClassiCon in 1973. It is a manly chair, no? Suitable for Fred Flinstone.
Please, no angry letters. It’s a classic beauty (manly, yes).
Chair of the day: Ellipse by Vivero
The Ellipse chair gets its cue from Peter Blake. It’s definitely got a ’60’s vibe going on.
This nifty chair is made by Vivero and comes in a variety of upholstery – this being the best one by far.
